What is a lava lamp? It's a large, beautiful night light in a glass flask containing oil and paraffin wax. Using an incandescent bulb, over the course of a couple of hours the paraffin fully melts and starts moving inside the flask. It can move as one blob or as several, and always differently. You can sit for hours watching the movement happen so beautifully and unhurriedly. • The paraffin takes about 2-3 hours to warm up. • Do not keep the lamp switched on for more than 10 hours. • The room needs a temperature above 20 degrees for the large lava lamp to work properly. Otherwise the paraffin may not rise and will stay near the bottom.
