A well-thought-out combination of plastic and metal parts gives the body the rigidity it needs and eliminates the play found in competitors in this price segment. All parts are carefully fitted, and the mechanisms move smoothly, without jerking. Focusing on the Bassell 20x50 is central. The focusing wheel is large, with a comfortable knurled grip. The travel is smooth and short - the wheel makes one full turn from stop to stop. The design also includes diopter adjustment. Fine-tuning to suit your eyesight is done using the adjuster on the right eyepiece. The adjustment range is standard - +/-5 diopters. The eyecups are comfortable and soft, and easily fold down and back up for more comfortable use of the binoculars. The field of view is 137 metres at 1000 metres. The fairly large objective lenses provide optimal light transmission and good colour rendition. Negative aberrations are minor. The fairly considerable weight (880 grams) does not make handheld observation especially comfortable, so the Bassell 20x50 binoculars have a socket for a tripod L-adapter. The rubberised body handles protection from precipitation reasonably well, but keep in mind the binoculars are not fully sealed and full water exposure is strictly not recommended.
